Synonym of Time
Part Three- Elucidation of time
Any ideology which does not recognize that reality is
much more complex than our feeble brains can handle, leads to oppression.
Because their claims can only be imposed in some sort of violence- physical,
intellectual, political etc.
An ideology can only be a success when it understands
that the very understanding (of human mind) of the world is highly going to be
imperfect and our actions will have the unintended consequences.
According to Hindu thought, imperfection is a property
of the mind, and hence any ideology emerging out of it is likely to be severely
flawed at its core. Unless one transcends the mind itself. Indian culture has
always been a result of spiritual seeking and is the only nation which has
richly inherited it.
Washing the mud thrown on spirituality and discussion
about how semi literates have corrupted the word has already been discussed in
the article, “Perceiving by Disabling Knowledge” earlier in this blog. I
would recommend to those who haven’t read it yet to construe the article thoroughly
and then resume reading this article.
Further I am only going to scrutinize the conventional
thought process, history and timeline of earth comparing it with human mind,
consciousness and civilization complexity which may throw inconvenient truths
to articulate. While I arraign and deprecate the very timeline (of
civilization), I will also suggest the current readers (who have not read) to
read another article, “Perception of Time”, in this blog before
deprecating the current and upcoming articles (which will be continuation of this
article) in future.
As “The Perspective Enigma” has merely only begin to
reach at its main purpose of explaining the sledge of the civilization and
elucidate the society, every article written previously may or may not be
interconnecting to each other, but surely will connect here.
The problem with notable ideologists like Jean Paul
Sartre, a French philosopher and a Marxist, has been that they have never left room
open for consequences of their actions which their ideology could not
incorporate. Moreover the rigid atheism of Paul Tillich (German-American
philosopher and a theologist) has never comprehended the fact that there can be
something more than what his feeble brain can absorb. Not trying to downplay
them, but a true knowledgeable people, according to Albert Einstein, have been
the ones who realize that they are surrounded by their ignorance and trapped in
arrogance.
There is so much more to the universe than we know,
and that acknowledgement is not the work of a feeble mind, but a strong one.
Because a weak mind wants a theology. Intelligent is not one who claims to know
the existence of universe based on the books imposed on him, but the one who has
experienced the cosmos itself. In mid is the person whose mind leaves the door
to be open for any possibility based on logic or something beyond the narrow
framework of logic. This is the level where most of the ancient Greek philosophers
and spiritual seekers from Bharatvarsh fell. Those who transcended beyond this,
like the Maharishis, yogis of highest order were often found to be illogical at
times for society. But just because you have not seen something beyond does not
mean that there is nothing beyond your level of perception.
Bertrand Russel was a British philosopher,
mathematician and an activist who was an atheist too. His atheism was purely
based on non-belief (of anything) than the very confirmed belief that there is
no god at all. As the present-day atheism is nothing but another belief system.
He was not agnostic, but he was a seeker. He kept the door opened for any sort
of explanation and possibility.
Before diving into the history of human civilization
once again, which is to explain the descent of not just the Aryavarth but human
consciousness, I would like to first define what Dharma, Religion, Belief,
Theology and Theocracy is.
The closest equivalence to Religion which British
could find in India was the word “Dharma”. It would be wrong to say that
present day religion means dharma at all. The more accurate translation to
religion is “Mazhab”. Present day definition of religion is emerging from the
view point of Semitics way of seeing the world. For Semitics, religion is more
like an organization with a group of people participating in it and learning
the very theology based on the belief of the scholar teaching.
Meanwhile, Dharma is not a belief system. It emerges
out of questioning, as it’s the most important part of Indian culture. Dharma
or Eternal (Santana in Sanskrit) Dharma is not a theology at all. Neither it
has a holy book or commandments one shall follow to be walking on path of Dharma.
This the reason why Ancient India gave space for multiple Hindu schools of
thoughts which were logically and reasonably driven through the participation
of students. Hence Dharma has been emphasized in Guru-Shishya tradition and a
right question is valued more than the answer of Guru. Guru would merely teach
one to question right things and help them perceive than spoon-feed the data of
cosmos.
Samkhya school of thought was one of the six principled
schools of Bharatvarsh seeking eternal dharma which incorporated atheism too in
it. Not the present-day atheism. In fact the dharma of Gautam Buddha and
Mahavira Jain emerged out of this open system of society. And hence calling
Buddhism and Jainism a faith is completely wrong. It is a religion. Though the
modern Americans see it as a philosophy than the religion itself because their
definition of religion has been completely different from the Indian definition.
This is another reason why the evolved minds in India never thought about
converting someone as religion or Dharma was merely seen as a thing to be
attained through introspection and finding right questions and answers.
Even the Bhagavat Gita does not give commandments for human
beings to follow or to be imposed. It is a great psychology book according to
Osho. Whereas another Indian guru, Sadhguru,
considers it to be the greatest dialogue or debate between divine and man.
Divinity was seen as an energy residing inside a man which one could open it up
through expanding mind by YOG (means Union with cosmos). Even according to Mahabharat, Dharma has been set
of duties, righteousness and responsibilities which would depend on person to person.
This is the reason why the Bharatvarsh has been land
of seculars. Hindus (geographical identity) could savvy that the Dharma is
different for a king, peasant, trader, mother, child, teacher, soldier etc. in
society. Meanwhile people did envisage that the ultimate consciousness or a
greater energy is one, people would often worship the entities which they would
like to transform into. Yogis would aspire to be like Adiyogi (Shiva), Karma
yogi (one who dwells in world and performs actions realizing that it has its
consequences and impact on society) would idolize Sr Krishna; learners would
aspire to be like the leader of Ganas (Ganas were the living creatures which
came from outside this world), Ganapati because he was a scholar. Hence everyone
idolized someone. In a movie, Batman Begins, Ra’s al Ghul quotes that if you
make yourself more than a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal and if they
can’t stop you, then you become something else entirely.
This was the cognizance of our ancestors. This is
another possible explanation for why wrestlers would idolize Bajrangi or Hanuman.
In fact there was no word equivalent to god before in
Indian culture. There were Devi and Deva which were simply another prefix for
paying respect. Bhagavat Gita never mentions the word “Bhagwan” or god at all.
It specifies Atman and Parmatma and that’s the only coin word for the energy.
Ellora Caves is a perfect example for the secular framework
for Hindus in Indian subcontinent. In fact secularism was never even a thing
which anyone would learn because there was no thinking process for announcing
that “My” deity is better than yours. At the center of the site is the Kailash
temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and for all the yogis who could find their
capsules in which they would meditate near the radiation of Shiva Linga
(Shi-Vah means that which is not). But the external walls of the temple were
dedicated to the depiction of Ramayan and Mahabharat and glorifying Lord
Vishnu. Hence it was a temple for Shaivites (considering Shiva to be supreme)
and Vaishnavites (considering Vishnu to be supreme).
Two different takes on the creation of universe but a
deep and mutual respect for one another. What can be the best example for
secularism?
Meanwhile, on the North of the spiritual hills for Hindus
was the Buddhist monastery carved within the hills and in the south were the
Jain schools. The entire site incorporated different schools of thoughts and a unique
take on Dharma. But there was never a conflict. A Hindu (geographical identity;
just like people living in Europe are called Europeans, Hindus for Hindustan)
could be a Shaivite, Vaishnavite, Jain or Buddhist but what they valued above their
different methods was the Mukti (Freedom from the world, maybe matrix). Hence
as long as the method worked out to be enlightened by following either of
Yogis, the diverse practices did not matter. And every yogi, irrespective of their
Hindu school and its thoughts, saw the Devagiri hills (near to Aurangabad,
Maharashtra) to be an ideal place to retain and expand energy.
Referring back to the earlier post of this blog, “Metamorphosis
of Aryavarth”, it is cleary established that the culture and practices
similar to Hindus were followed throughout the world. May it be Greeks,
Egyptians, Celtics (Ireland and Scotland), Slavic (Russia), Romans, Mayans (Central
America), Babylonians (Iraq), Assyrians (Syria), Sumerians (Iraq) etc. all of
them can be classified into Pantheists, Polytheists, Animists and moreover the
seekers. There was no holy book for them or commandments to be followed. There
was a culture of Guru-Shishya even in Ancient Greece, as the philosophers were
none other than the mentors. Because there was no theology and with the help of
advanced beings from outside Earth being called Devi, Devata or gods, there was
an open system of questioning and seeking the cosmos. This resulted in the formation
of advanced civilizations which were much more scientific than the immediate ancestors
ever formed.
This is another reason for why the ancient era was
much more sophisticated than the dark ages of Europe and the medieval ages.
There was a huge fall of the human consciousness and disconnection
from angels after the great floods according to Bible. Meanwhile, Roman writers
described that it seemed like the man was tired of using his intellect and was
more interested in someone imposing a belief system.
Whereas the war of Kurukshetra and changing of
constellations and planetary position, being away from a Super star led to the
beginning of Dark Age from somewhere in 3102 BC. Though an Indian mathematician
and astronomer, Aryabhata argued that there is no particular start and end
point to the four ages as mentioned by Ved Vyaas but it’s the slow transition
of time due to the rotation of sun around the giant star or super cluster.
Temples were moreover seen as energy centers than a
place for worship and preaching. Ancient texts from Babylonia suggests that the
kingdom had advanced in the field of mathematics which is currently followed and
studied throughout the globe. But after the destruction of Mesopotamian
civilization and it being conquered by the power hungry and materialistic kings
of Persia, the ancient rich culture and methodology was replaced by a belief
system and Zoroastrianism was announced to be the state religion of Persian
Empire. This imposition led to a uniformity in thoughts and ideology but killed
the very unique and diverse way of seeking the truth and perceiving the cosmos
itself.
Zoroastrianism can be called as the first of the Semitic
religion in world. It was the dawn of the Semitism and new phrasal of new
definition of Religion or Dharma. The shift in human thought was the result of
planetary movements and the varying energy of life forms which led to
disconnect from a spiritual way of living. Some historians do argue it was also
because of the disconnect from the advanced civilization too. Though it is only
a theory, which shall not be believed until proven completely but also shall
not be discarded because it challenges the very notions of human world.
This shift of thought process led to the formation of confirmed
and confined ideologies which had its own consequences in the politics and
lifestyle ultimately impacting on the human civilization.
Being back to square one from where this article
started, next article shall focus more on the paradigm shift of human
civilization, metaphysics and the history itself. Though “The Perspective Enigma”
is not a history blog, yet it shared the complexity of Aryavarth in its previous
post in detail to give the fragment idea of unconventional approach to history
and not widely known “Itihaas”.
